What Homeowners Say About Working With Me
Behind every house is a reason for selling it. These are a few of the people who trusted me to help them through theirs.
The Experience Matters Too
Price matters. Of course it does. But when I talk with homeowners, that’s often only part of what they’re trying to solve.
Sometimes the house needs more work than they can handle. Sometimes they’re dealing with everything left behind after a parent dies. Sometimes they’re simply exhausted and want one part of an already difficult situation to be simple.
I can tell you how I work. The homeowners below can tell you what it actually felt like to work with me.
When the House Isn’t Ready to List
“Thank you for contacting me. I didn’t know what I was going to do with this house since it wasn’t in any condition to list with a realtor.”
When You’re Already Exhausted
“Thanks for buying my Mother’s home. It was a big help that you were able to buy it without us having to clean it out and get it ready to sell. My mother had accumulated lots of stuff and after the stress of her long illness I was exhausted and I dreaded dealing with all of it. I also liked it that you gave me a very fair price for the home. I’m on a fixed income and that really helped a lot.”
When the Sale Is Emotional
“Dennis – thank you for helping us with our Mom’s home. This was a very traumatic experience for us, and we appreciated your patience with all the emotions we experienced during the process. You were really patient and understanding with us during the sale process, and we’re sure that Mom’s home will be in good hands. God Bless.”
“Thank you for making it simple to sell my parent’s home. Words can’t express how emotional it was having to sell the house I grew up in. Thank you for being patient with my sister and me, for making the process simple, and for making us a decent offer instead of lowballing us like a lot of the other people that sent us letters did. You helped make the best out of a really horrible experience without the high pressure that some of the other buyers put on us.”
When Timing Really Matters
“Mr. Fassett – thank you for working with us to buy my Mom’s home after she passed away. When you mentioned that you would give us an offer within 24 hours and then close quickly I didn’t really believe that we would have the house sold in only 2 weeks. I’m glad I found you.”
Not every closing needs to happen in two weeks. Some sellers need speed. Others need months. The point isn’t closing as quickly as humanly possible — it’s figuring out the timing that actually works for the homeowner.
When You Need Time — Not Pressure
“Thanks for buying my Mom’s house. I didn’t know what to do after three real estate agents told me they wouldn’t list it in the condition it was in. I appreciate you being flexible with me and giving me time to remove the pictures and other valuables that my Mom had. Thanks also for not pressuring me to sell like some of the other guys that sent letters. The process was stressful enough without being pressured to sign a contract.”

The Part of These Stories That Matters Most to Me
Reading these years later, what stands out to me isn’t that people thanked me for buying their houses.
It’s what they thanked me for.
Being patient. Listening. Giving them time. Not making them clean everything out. Doing what I said I would do. Not pressuring them.
Those aren’t extras I’ve added to make the process sound better. That’s how I believe this business should work.
Sometimes that means buying the house. Sometimes it means telling someone they’d probably be better off listing it. I literally have those conversations all the time. A quick, convenient sale usually means trading some sale price for speed, certainty, and less work. If that tradeoff doesn’t make sense for you, I want you to know that before you sign anything.
If we’re not a fit, I’ll tell you straightaway — and I’ll try to point you in the direction of something that is a fit.
What You Can Expect When You Call
You talk to me.
When you call, you get me — not a call center or an AI system deciding whether you sound like an easy deal. If I don’t answer, I’m probably talking with another homeowner. Leave me a message and I’ll get back to you.
We’ll figure out what you’re actually trying to accomplish.
The first conversation is really a discovery conversation. I want to understand the house, but I also want to understand the situation around it: what’s creating stress, what matters most, what timing you’re working with, and what you actually want the sale to accomplish.
If I’m not the right fit, I’ll tell you.
A direct sale is useful for some homeowners. For others, listing the house, making a few repairs, keeping it, or taking another route makes more sense. My job in that first conversation is to help you understand the difference.
You Don’t Need to Know Yet Whether You Want to Sell
If you’re trying to figure out what to do with a house, start with a conversation. Tell me what’s going on, and I’ll help you understand the realistic options.
